Charlotte Newman
“I chose NTI because I wanted to be pushed in a way that I had never been before. I wanted an environment where I was surrounded by like minded peers who could challenge me to be the best artist I could be.”
Charlotte (TM '17, NTI-AP Spring '18) is a graduate of the University of Missouri where she studied theater. She is an emerging playwright who got her first taste of writing while being a student at NTI. In 2017 she spent a fantastic summer at the O’Neill as a playwright in the Theatermakers Summer Intensive. After those six weeks she was left wanting more so she attended a full NTI semester in the spring of 2018 as an Advanced Playwright. Since attending NTI Charlotte had a play produced at Potluck Productions and two staged reading at the Mizzou New Play Series. After these experiences Charlotte is now an emerging writer who wants to be a show-runner for network television, specifically on the CW or Freeform.
Charlotte is the NTI Admissions Coordinator and Program Representative because she wants to help young artists like herself develop a strong network of peers and mentors as well as realize their artistic dreams. She regularly visits and speaks with students at theater festivals and conferences throughout the country.
