The Theatermakers Summer Intensive invites actors, directors, and playwrights to spend six weeks training in a single discipline and producing new works alongside the O’Neill’s professional national conferences that originated the staged reading model and launched the careers of countless theater artists.
In addition to daily classes, you will bring original work to life each week written, directed, and performed by the Theatermakers ensemble. Your work is given public presentations as part of the O’Neill’s summer season.
The Theatermakers Summer Intensive offers mentorship through daily master classes and workshops. Train with award-winning professionals and emerging artists who help to guide you through the rigorous practice of producing your own work each week.
Through assistantships and observerships, you cultivate professional experience in the process of creating new work with the National Playwrights Conference and the National Music Theater Conference. Additionally, you will gain exposure to the latest developments in the arts of Puppetry, Cabaret, and Criticism.
